We exist to Glorify God, and to Represent Him to our neighbors, in Word and in Deed.
The exact time that the church was organized is not known. We know that on December 28, 1884, one half acre of land, more or less, was purchased for $10.00 from Deacon Dennis and Dafney Legg. We believe that was when we left the brush harbor and went into our first building. In 1905, twenty-one years later, the second building, which some of our older members remember today, was built. Services were held in that building which is now referred to as the "old church" for more than 66 years, at which that time the third building under the leadership of Rev. Andrew Wicker was dedicated to the Glory of God on June 27, 1971. Rev. Wicker was pastor of Purity for more than 30 years before entering into retirement in the early 80's.
The church was built in 1971 and bricked under the leadership of Pastor Cliff H Dye. It was later renovated into the Fellowship Hall in 2004.
Our fourth sanctuary was dedicated to the Glory of God on May 30, 2004. This vision was spearheaded by Pastor Cliff H Dye who retired in 2024.
